Where Sodal started

Sodal did not begin with a generic list of software features. It began with the day-to-day needs of one independent studio.

M-Fit is a boutique Pilates and personal training studio built around small-group classes, one-to-one attention, and something software cannot manufacture: a place where the people behind the desk genuinely know their members.

That kind of relationship is the reason independent studios win. It is also easy for clumsy software, disconnected tools, and invisible member churn to get in its way. M-Fit's real schedule, operating policies, and member experience became the starting point for Sodal.

Product decisions grounded in studio work

Building around an actual studio changes the questions. It is not only, "Can a member book a class?" It is also:

  • What happens when that class fills and someone joins the waitlist?
  • Does an on-time cancellation return a class credit correctly?
  • Can a member sign the current waiver before booking?
  • Can staff see today's roster and check in a walk-in without fighting the system?
  • Will the owner notice when a regular's attendance pattern starts to change?

Those details shaped the platform: schedules, memberships, class packs, payments, waivers, waitlists, check-in, direct messages, weekly goals, streaks, and milestones all work as one member journey instead of a collection of separate features.

The studio's brand and revenue stay its own

Members should feel like they are using M-Fit's app, not visiting a software marketplace. The studio's name stays out front across the website and member experience.

Payments follow the same principle. Each studio connects its own Stripe account, and Sodal adds no percentage or per-transaction platform fee. Stripe's standard processing fees still apply, but Sodal does not take a cut of the studio's sales.

AI that supports the relationship

Boutique-studio churn is usually quiet. A regular stops booking their usual class, then comes less often, then disappears. Sodal's retention AI is designed to notice that change in rhythm, show the team who may need attention, and prepare a thoughtful message in the studio's voice.

The owner remains in control. The software surfaces the signal and helps with the draft; the studio decides what is true, what sounds right, and whether to send it. AI handles pattern recognition so the team has more time for the human part.

From a founding studio to a repeatable platform

M-Fit is Sodal's founding studio: the first real operating model around which the platform is being shaped. Sodal turns those lessons into a repeatable, managed platform for other independent Pilates, yoga, and barre studios.

The promise is straightforward. A studio should not have to become a software company to get a member experience it is proud to put its name on. Sodal handles the platform so the studio can stay focused on the part that cannot be automated: the relationships that make people want to return.
